IRWINDALE, Calif. (October 6, 2008) – Rain wiped out the majority of TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale's  NASCAR Whelen All-American Series schedule of races on Saturday, October 4 which including regular season finales for four racing divisions. However, two divisions did manage to crown series champions during the evening.

A 100-lap race was scheduled for the Auto Club Late Model division but the race was checkered after 51 laps when rain ended the race.  Andrew Myers of Huntington Beach started third in the 25-car field, led the entire race and was proclaimed the winner scoring his second consecutive victory and 7th of the season.

Tim Huddleston finished in second place which was good enough for the Agoura Hills resident to capture his second consecutive Auto Club Late Model division championship and third crown in the last four years including titles in 2005 and 2007.   Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills finished third in the race and took runner-up honors in the division standings along with the ACDelco Super Late Model division championship which he won on September 6. Myers victory allowed him to secure third place in the final division standings.

Four feature races were cancelled including Legends Cars, Vista Paint Super Stocks, DriveTech Late Models and the Justice Brothers Mini Stocks. No races will be re-scheduled as the season for each of the divisions was concluded. As a result of his position at the top of the standings, Rich Garver of Torrance won his first Justice Brothers Mini Stock division championship, while other division championships were previously won by Brain Harrell in Vista Paint Super Stocks and Tom Landreth in Legends Cars.
